For many years now, the debate surrounding the singularity of the Shoah has been lively: supporters of the sacred memory clash with right-wing Holocaust deniers and left-wing critics alike. Behind this controversy lies a deeper question: that of the very foundations of democracy. Even today, is equality between citizens enough to found a society that makes room for every man in his difference? <\/p>\n
