Every existence on earth is confronted with the flight of time and beings, with exile. Men reassure themselves by imagining themselves rooted in the world, but uprooting threatens them one day or another. Far from being an inevitable fate, exile is quite different from uprooting. It’s an existential option in the face of the human condition, experienced as a heroic creative freedom that liberates man from the determinism of nature, opening the way for a return, a way out of exile that no longer looks to the past, but to the future. In the style of a philosophical narrative, this book lets us experience the time specific to the exile’s geographical and mental wanderings.
